Hello and welcome back to my blog!
On Thursday I took a trip to London to see The King And I at the dominion theatre, I've never been to the Dominion before so I thought I would take the time to share my thoughts and photos in a blog!
If you have read my previous blog you will know that I have recently started a new role back in travel for the first time in 2 years, something I am really excited about.
As I work for a coach company, I travelled to London by coach. Leaving my house at 7am wasn't fun but I had plenty of time to put my feet up and sleep on the way to London - I even managed to get half way through Legend on Netflix before drifting off 😂
We made our way to London, saw lots of sights on the way in. Saw tower bridge and the O2. I've been to the O2 before to a Muhammad Ali exhibition a few years ago.
We arrived in London at around 12:30, we had some spare time to wander the city. I watched a film in the cinema around a year ago called one night in Soho, it is about Aspiring fashion designer Eloise is mysteriously able to enter the 1960s, where she encounters dazzling wannabe singer Sandie, but the glamour is not as it seems, and the dreams of the past crack and splinter into something darker.
I've never been to the Dominion theatre so I was unsure of the location but it is right in Soho! I found the pub that was used in the film so I had to take a photo. I had a nice walk around Soho square and nipped into a coffee shop for a quick drink.
The theatre started letting people in at 13:45. After the mandatory bag search we were allowed to go in and find our seats. I bought the program for £7.
As I went with work this trip was free but I had an amazing seat in the stalls, I am so grateful! I was in Stall H Seat 29. I managed to get into my seat around 14:15, the show started at 14:30.
I haven't been to London to see a west end musical before, this was the first time. I have been to local productions but this is a whole new ball game! I was speechless. The costumes and acting was amazing. The singing gave me goosebumps!
We weren't allowed to take photos in the theatre so I had to wait until the end to get a photo of the cast but I really enjoyed it! I think a lot of younger people are put off by coach travel but I genuinely think if I had to drive to London or use the tubes I would have had multiple panic attacks.
The coach drops you outside the theatre and then picks you up when the show is finished so it really is so stress free, London is a big city and I was really worried as I was going on my own but I had the best time.
The coach journey was quite long but understandable being London, I just put my Airpods in, Ipad on and I was away. I did even manage to get a couple of hours sleep!
In 5 weeks I am due to travel to Belgium for 2 nights and 3 days to visit the Flanders fields and experience the hostels etc that we send our schools to on for their residential trips. This will be my first time going on a ferry!! I am really looking forward to blogging this one too as there are so many places we are visiting!
Thank you for reading, Keep an eye out for my next blog.
