Hey guys, welcome back to my blog.

Today I am going to take you through ways you can remove negative people from your life. We have all had them, from family members who treat you like to odd one out to ex boyfriends/girlfriends and sometimes even friends.


Some of the ways these negative people impact your life are:

  • They try to control you

  • They disregard your boundaries

  • They take without giving

  • They are always right

  • They love to be victims

  • They lack accountability


A motto I love to live by is "Kill em with kindness".

For this blog, I have put together my top 5 tips for removing negative people from your life and putting you first again.


1. Decide that YOU are worth it.

When it gets to the point that you actually get sick and tired of being sick and tired with certain people, it's normally a sign that you are at the end of your rope. You need to put yourself first and feel as if you’re worthy of achieving your goals and changing into the person you want to be. It’s time you committed to yourself, your goals and your dreams. If you're not sure, think about the negative side effects of holding onto these people in your life, and their impact on your goals and overall happiness. It is never too late to try something new, take up a new hobby or have a new dream. Put yourself first.


2. Identify the negative people.

Look out for people who negatively affect your other relationships, invade your space and take up a lot of your time. If a person makes you feel a negative way it's time for them to go.

Sometimes the truth does hurt but it's time to accept that not everything works out and take steps to move on. Negative people can have a big impact on your life, from over eating or under eating through stress to constantly feeling worthless and unappreciated. The red flags that you see appearing.. take note and leave before it gets too much!


3. Let them go by establishing boundaries.

Boundaries are key in maintaining your health and happiness. If people don’t respect your boundaries, they aren’t respecting you. Make a list of your own personal boundaries, and don’t be afraid to tell others if they cross them. Use whatever method you think is appropriate and respectful but stand strong in delivering what you need to be happy. Never feel ashamed to let someone know when they are making you feel unappreciated or unhappy. Never abandon your boundaries for someone else, if they love you they will appreciate your boundaries and do anything they can to make you feel comfortable and respected.


4. Remind yourself daily why and don't feel guilty about it.

This one may sound a little silly but the power of belief can be your best friend. You must remember it is your life and you're in control of your thoughts, feelings and actions. It is important to remind yourself daily of this. You are in control, you are the boss.

You have to see it like you're not abandoning these people, you are simply allowing them to find their own path and place in life while you are working towards yours.

Never feel guilty for putting yourself first. If you've met the right person at the wrong time, you will always find a way back to each other.


5. Bring In The Positive.

Positive vibes only!

This is the stage where you remember everything happens for a reason, some people come into our lives for a short period of time to teach us things and that is all they are there for and that is ok. We go to school so teachers can help us to learn but then there comes a time to go onto a new school and move on, the same principle with people in our everyday lives.

Everytime a door closes another is waiting to be opened.

Do what makes you happy, really invest in yourself.

This could be going for a walk everyday, creating a diary on how you feel, cutting out social media or something as simple as baking a cake.

Surround yourself with people who make you happy. People who will support you and your ambitions, encourage you to better yourself and believe in your ideas because they know how important it is for you. The better and brighter company you keep - the better and brighter your life will become.
