Hello and welcome back to my blog.
I have a lot to write about and not much time to write it in!
First of all I want to say I cannot believe it has been 4 months since I made my last blog post, criminal I know!
My pup is now 9 months old, I've changed jobs and cars since my last blog. Time really flies!
The end of 2023 wasn't a great one for me, I was working a supermarket job and just felt like I was surviving, there is nothing wrong with working in a supermarket but I just had that gut feeling that I should be doing more and it was really getting me down mentally. I wanted to set myself some goals for 2024 to really push myself to my limits to achieve things I have always wanted.
As some of you may know, I worked in a travel agency for around 3 years, I absolutely loved it. Booking holidays and helping people with all of their travel needs. It was the career most people dream of but unfortunately at the time I couldn't drive and I had to leave travel to work in care.
I loved care too, it's the most rewarding job I think I have ever done. To see clients smile at the end of the day is just priceless. I really enjoyed caring but it took its toll on me physically with my diabetes. The long 15 hour days without sitting down unfortunately made it almost impossible to control my diabetes so I had to take a part time supermarket job to balance the work load.
I met a lot of friends while working in the supermarket, some I will be friends with for a very long time. I just felt that I should he doing more, I should be getting back into travel if that's what I really want to do.
Over Christmas I made it my mission to keep an eye out for travel jobs so I could build my career in travel again. I think when you have your heart set on something you work so hard to get there. I had a really lovely Christmas and tried not to put too much pressure on myself. I threw myself into my fitness and boxing, I even managed to lose half a stone over Christmas week, that's almost impossible to believe!
I found a job for a local coach company and I just jumped straight into the deep end and applied. I try to think positive about everything but I guess until you get the go ahead there will always be a little bit of doubt. Well I heard back and went for an interview and I was so surprised at how well it went. I clicked with everyone there. A couple of days later I was offered the job and I couldn't have been any happier!
My official start date was Monday but I started Friday to get the ball rolling, meet everyone and learn the new systems etc. The day went so quickly, I fit In perfectly. I am really looking forward to having educational trips that I can share my thoughts on and hopefully be more active on my blog.
After my car had been written off at the start of January due to the extreme floods and then losing my purse, I really had it all in the last month but I am so happy that I finally have something to smile about and lots of new things to write about!
Thank you for the support from my friends and family who have encouraged me to keep going and restart my blog, I find writing so therapeutic in this crazy world!
I look forward to writing about my educational trips and more! I have my first educational trip to London soon so I will be blogging all about it!
Take care and keep your eyes peeled for my next blog 👀
