👩‍💻Get to know me - 20 Questions!👩‍💻

Hey! Welcome back to my blog.

Today I wanted to do something different, I am working on my theatre trip blogs, I have been to lots in a short space of time and I am still catching up! I thought while they're in the process of completion I would do something different!

I haven't done a blog answering questions for a while so I have been onto Pinterest to see what questions I can find, here is 20 questions I chose to answer!

  1. Personal changes you've made and how they have changed you?

Ramping up the gym - I have created a routine for the gym now my life is a little less rocky and I have some stability I am able to plan for the gym. I go to the gym 4 times a week, walk everyday. I like to work arms, legs and core a session each and then 1 session a week I like to focus on boxing training. I usually plan a session before I go, sometimes I mentally plan it in my head and adapt when I am there (usually if I know I am going in peak times and the equipment I want is being used). Sometimes I will plan in advance and try to change and adapt it to work for what I need to achieve each session.

I go to the gym 2 or 3 times a week in the morning, this is usually around 5am before work. I work 8-4 so this works well as I can do my workout and shower then go straight to work - It is on the way too so it is a win win!

I do sometimes go to the gym in the evenings, this is usually like 5:30/6 which is obviously peak times so my workouts have to change accordingly.

Something else I have changed is my eating. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes a couple of years ago and the gp has since said I have reversed this into remission. This is an amazing achievement for me however I find that now I struggle to control my sugars as I have PCOS too. Sometimes they're high and sometimes they are low. I find eating little and often has really changed everything. I like to have something every 2 hours and I work to a calorie goal for the day and things have really improved!

2. Your morning routine?

Monday - Friday I work full time 8-4pm.

I go to the gym at 5am a couple of days a week and then do the others in the evening, I change it up each week so as a "Routine" goes I do the same things each week but mix it up when I do them. A usual day would be get up go to the gym, shower and go to work. Come home and walk the dog and make dinner then shower read my E book and go to bed.

3. Evening routine?

My evening routine usually revolves around a good gym session or a nice long walk with the dog and then dinner. I will then shower and sit and read my E book or play candy crush friends - I can't help it I'm addicted!

4. Favourite thing to do with friends?

Being an adult is when you realise how difficult it is to meet up with friends! Everyone works at different times and it is always a nightmare. I like to go out and do things with my friends like a pub lunch or theatre trip! Love just sitting and talking shit with them too lol

5. What do you do to relax on after a long day?

I have really started getting into reading E books on my Ipad. I have recently been getting into the Colleen Hoover books. When I worked in the supported living I used to use my Ipad to watch films or do my training etc but as soon as I changed jobs I stopped using it for some reason! I love watching Netflix on it too. I like going to my friends in the evening and have a good rant and catch up.

6. Interesting facts about you?

As lots of you know I am a former boxer and national champion, I think that's pretty interesting? If not then I have no idea lol

7. Favourite things to do with the dog?

I love taking Marley to the beach, even if he hates the water? I've never known a Labrador (technically 3/4 of a Labrador) to not like the water, he also hates mud and all things messy. In some ways I guess this is a good thing as it means I don't need to bath him 24/7 lol! I like just spending time with him, I have wanted a labrador for as long as I can remember so it genuinely is just a blessing to be around him.

8. How do you save money - Do you have any savings goals?

At the moment I am saving for a car, I am looking at a BMW series 1. I love the shape of them. I am more a fan of the older ones and I think it will be a more practical car for me. I love my Toyota Aygo as it's amazing on fuel but being a 2 door is AGRO! I like to save little amounts too for a rainy day or when I feel some retail therapy is needed, I bought one of those saving challenge folders from Tiktok so that also helps! I really recommend them as you start at £1 and work your way to £100, I like this as you can save as little as you like. I also have a huge coke bottle which I am starting to save £1 coins in, I saw someone on Tiktok save £5,000 so I really want to give it a shot!

9. Weekend routine?

I don't usually have a weekend routine set in stone, I have started doing a strength class at 9am so I haven't been having a lay in but most Saturdays I have a lay in. I will then take Marley out somewhere like the local park or lake, sometimes I take him to the beach or further afield. I call Saturday my day for Marley as I work Monday - Friday and the only time I really spend with him is when he goes on his daily walks - Which I sometimes forget to track on Strava urgh!

Sunday I like to call my day, I usually like to get up and go to boxing, I train myself doing a warm up followed by the actual boxing training and then some strength and conditioning stuff. I like to then come back and walk Marley for around a mile - I like to use this as my cooldown. The afternoons usually consist of me taking Marley to see my nan, she lives around 40 mins from me so it is a nice drive. She spoils him and we like to spend the afternoon and early evening there, most weeks we go to the local pub and have lunch. Marley sits on the chair and tries to steal our food - He won't take it he just sits there and gives those puppy eyes! He is currently on a diet as he put on a lot of weight.

10. Favourite summer activity?

My friend has a paddle board and we love to go to the water with it, sometimes we go swimming and do other things. I love taking Marley to the beach and I hope one day he will be confident in the water so we can swim together 🙂

11. Favourite Winter activity?

When it snows then of course make a snowman. I love going to craft markets and all things Christmas, love Christmas fayres etc. I like training outside in the winter like jogging and running because with my asthma it is easier to breathe.

I LOVE watching Christmas films in my Christmas pjs with a hot chocolate, I LOVE The Grinch - original one of course it is my favourite film of all time.

12. Why did you choose your career?

I have worked in travel for a few years now and I love it! from doing abroad holidays I learnt so much and my job now, booking adult day trips and organising battlefield itineraries - I will save the rest for a day in the life work blog for you another time!

13. Favourite singers/bands?

I have such a wide range of singers and bands that I like.. from UB40 to High School Musical I have the strangest playlist known to man!

I am really into country at the moment and LOVE Post Malone.

14. Who inspires you the most?

I think different people inspire me for different things. For work I would say my manager, she is going through the hardest shit at the moment and she is still being supportive to everyone else. For boxing it has to be Tyson Fury, I love his mental health talks and a lot of what he has been through really sits with me from personal experiences. I like to push forward and not give up.

15. Your gym/workout weekly routine?

Monday, Wednesday and Friday I like to go to the gym at 5am before work, I try to do upper, core and lower body (one day of each - My session is usually around an hour, I like to have rests between so around 45 mins of actual work) Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday I like to do a strength or sweat class at my local gym (I like to do classes as they push me and I have met lots of new friends!) these are usually 30 - 40 mins, I like to do the stretch class too. I also like these classes because I like to use some of the exercises in my own routines.

Saturday is sometimes my rest day and then Sunday I do boxing training in the morning. I usually work to how my body feels, since having PCOS this is something I had to change. As I get flare ups with my PCOS sometimes I don't workout at all in a week and then others I will workout every single day religiously. This is what I would do if my PCOS is good. Weight training is so much better for PCOS as cardio puts a lot of stress on the body which is of course not good, this causes me to have flare ups. - I will do some more PCOS blogs soon, I feel like I am a PCOS doctor after all the research I have had to do myself!

16. What are your strengths in life?

I consider myself as a strong person mentally, this helps me to be the strongest person I can be physically. I love everyone unconditionally, this is sometimes a weakness too. I think I am really caring and kind, I like to help others and do not expect things in return.

17. What are your weaknesses in life?

I love with everything I have, this is a weakness because I struggle to walk away from situations as I am always giving people chances when I shouldn't. I give people way too many chances and that is definitely an issue. I have learnt boundaries and I am trying so hard to change!

18. Favourite quote to live by?

My favourite quote at the moment is 'Don't be bitter, be better'. The reason I like this is because I have been knocked down more times than I can remember but I always get back up. I always focus on the positives and try to just get on with my life. Karma is a funny little thing and will do its job. I also like it as I feel like it is a good quote for moving forward and bettering yourself.

19. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Reading, writing, walking the dog, shopping, driving, brunch, weekends away, going to the theatre, Candy Crush Saga (Don't ask I am addicted lol) and Christmas fayres and markets in December

20. Favourite things to watch on Netflix/TV?

I LOVE Benidorm, it is something I can binge watch. I like Virgin River, Emily in Paris (Buzzing for the new series in August), Drifters, Orange is the new black and any other Disney or Pixar film.. Personal favourites include Cars, Tangled and Shrek.

With TV I don't really watch it much but I like Hollyoaks and Eastenders which I watch occasionally, four in a bed and come dine with me. Sometimes watch sport too - I will try and follow the olympics as much as I can :)

I have really enjoyed getting back into my blogging, I look forward to writing more.

Keep an eye out for my next blog - lots of theatre trips to review!
